#5 Books

2008 April 29

“Ben likes books” doesn’t really do them justice. I love books.

Books

I love them to the point that I can’t stick to one at a time. I’m currently in the middle of the following:

-Freakonomics by Levitt
-Swann’s Way by Proust
-Slapstick by Vonnegut
-Fight Club (again) by Palahniuk
-The Screwtape Letters by Lewis
-Atlas Shrugged by Rand
-The Bell Jar by Plath

I stopped reading literature for a while earlier this year. Not because I stopped liking it, by any means, but because I was focusing my energy elsewhere for some time. I found myself reading a lot of religion there for a while. I still do… but I’ve re-opened my doors to fiction and I’m enjoying it immensely.

Hopefully I’ll finish at least two of these by the end of the week. I’m anxious to cross a few more off my list that I’ve been wanting to read. Not to mention… I’m starting a book club with some friends of mine and I need to clear my slate a little to make room for that. If anyone has any suggestions for our first read, please feel free.

I’ll be ignoring any Harry Potter or Twilight jokes I can sense coming my way.
